Glossary

  • You can generate a standalone Budget Report from the Reports menu or a Budget Report section in QBR reports. This report type pulls financial and recommendation data from the Strategic Roadmap and organizes it into a configurable pivot table. The report can be filtered by organization, recommendation, acceptance status, and other factors.
  • A free-text field below each review question where the vCIO can document the business impact of a misaligned item, bridging the technical finding from the engineer or TAM and the risk it represents to the client.
  • All alignment categories that have not been reviewed within their configured reminder period.
  • A sub-grouping within a section in the Standards Library, used to organize related questions. Categories sit between sections and individual questions in the hierarchy.
  • The role responsible for standards and technology alignment. This user completes the engineer portion of reviews by answering yes/no questions about whether the client has the right technology in place. The engineer's findings are passed to the vCIO, who evaluates their business impact.
  • A review question and its answer surfaced on the Strategic Roadmap, allowing the vCIO to use it as supporting justification for a recommendation. See also: Unassigned findings.
  • A grouping on the Strategic Roadmap used to categorize related recommendations under a common heading or strategy. Examples include Business Continuity, Cybersecurity, and Licensing Changes.
  • A record of all previously conducted client meetings, accessible from the Strategic Roadmap menu. Past meetings can be reviewed or deleted at any time.
  • Constitutes past, upcoming, and missed meetings. Clicking a meeting opens a pane with the meeting details, from which the vCIO can launch presentation mode.
  • A pane accessed via the three-line icon in the upper-right corner of the Strategic Roadmap. It provides access to the strategy profile, meeting history, report building, contracts, initiatives, recommendation backlog, and other roadmap options.
  • Reviews on which the current user is assigned as the engineer or vCIO.
  • A library of compliance standard templates written and curated by the myITprocess Standards Manager, accessible from the Standards Library. Most myITemplates are locked for editing and can only be updated by the Standards Manager. To add standards from a myITemplate to your own Standards Library, drag and drop sections or categories from right to left.
  • A client-specific view within the Standards Library that contains the categories and sections selected for an organization. Organization templates can be customized to include only the standards relevant to a given client. Sections, categories, and questions can only be edited in the Standards Library, not in organization templates.
  • A feature on the Strategic Roadmap that allows a vCIO to present recommendations directly to a client. The vCIO creates a presentation by selecting a date and time, then dragging the relevant recommendations into the presentation. Presentation mode is designed to be displayed to the client in real time via a shared screen or laptop.
  • A yes/no question asked of a client to evaluate their level of compliance with a best practice. Questions are the lowest level of the Standards Library hierarchy, grouped within categories and sections.
  • A home page dashboard widget that displays reviews the current user can act on immediately, based on their assigned role in open reviews.
  • A specific project or action item on the Strategic Roadmap that needs to be addressed with a client. Examples include migrating to the cloud, installing new antivirus software, or discussing an upcoming office transition.
  • A holding area for recommendations that have been written but are not yet ready to appear on an organization's Strategic Roadmap. When the vCIO is ready to surface a recommendation, it can be moved from the backlog to the roadmap.
  • A timer set at the category level that determines how frequently a category should be reviewed. The default is every three months, but this can be adjusted to a custom number of days, weeks, or months. Overdue categories appear at the top of the category selection option when creating a review and in the Categories up for review widget on the home page dashboard.
  • A set of questions drawn from the Standards Library, answered Yes/No by the engineer or TAM and then evaluated for business risk by the vCIO. Both portions must be completed for a review to be considered complete.
  • The top-level grouping in the Standards Library, used to organize categories and their associated questions under a broad heading.
  • The central repository for all standards used in reviews. The Standards Library contains every available question and serves as the source from which organization templates are built. Sections, categories, and questions can only be edited here, not in individual organization templates.
  • A home page dashboard widget that displays the monetary value of accepted projects on the Strategic Roadmap for the next four quarters. Opening this widget shows upcoming projects broken down by quarter and organization.
  • A section of the Strategic Roadmap menu containing organization-specific settings, such as the start of the client's fiscal year.
  • Labels that can be applied to sections or categories. Tags allow users to quickly create reviews containing only the tagged items, making it efficient to run the same type of review across multiple organizations.
  • A free-text field below each review question where the engineer or TAM can record additional technical context that may be useful to the vCIO or organization when evaluating the finding.
  • A review question answered as "No" by the engineer that has not yet been either answered by the vCIO or assigned to a recommendation by the vCIO.
  • The role responsible for owning the business impact of technology decisions and managing the strategic client relationship. The vCIO evaluates the engineer's findings, determines the level of risk or vulnerability for the client, and presents recommendations and projects to the client using the Strategic Roadmap.
